What personal data we collect and why we collect it

When you complete a Contact Form, Course Registration Form, Request for Quotation and/or Order Form on our site, we collect the data shown in the form in order to provide our services in the best way possible to you.  When you complete and submit a form, we also collect your IP address to help spam detection and prevention. Completed forms are checked through an automated spam detection service.

CBSS built the WaterMonster App as a SERVICE, and is intended for use as is.  When you use our WaterMonster App, we collect the data that you filled in on the App, as well as certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to your Location, Camera, Photos/Media Files uploaded to the App, and data received from the Internet. The information that we request will be retained by us and used as described in this privacy policy. 

Who we share your information with

The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Services provided by CBSS. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.  We also will not share your information submitted on any of our forms with any other company to use for marketing purposes.  We hate it just as much as you do.

We may employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service, provide part of the Service on our behalf; perform Service-related services; or assist us in analyzing how our Service is used. We hereby inform users of our Service that these third parties have access to your Personal Information in order to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.

Log Data

The WaterMonster App does use third party services that may collect information used to identify you.  In a case of an error in the app, we collect data and information (through third party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.  The privacy policy of third party service providers used by the App can be found at the following links:

How long do we keep your information

We keep your information until we have provided you with the Service that you have signed up for, or until you request us to erase any personal information we hold about you.

You can request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Security – how do we protect your information

We value your trust in providing us with your Personal Information, and we therefore deploy a number of security systems on this website to protect both the integrity of the website itself, and your information.  Your personal information will never be stored on this website.  But do remember that no method of electronic transmission of information over the internet is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.


Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device’s internal memory. 

We do not collect cookies from visitors to our website.  We do collect cookies if you register and log in on our site, to make it easier for you to come back and log in again.  Our cookies are delicious, and gluten-free.  If you delete your browser history, you will also delete our cookies.

The website that supports the form you complete on this site, may also set cookies for your convenience, so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you complete another form. These cookies will last for one year.  They are not as yummy as our cookies.

The WaterMonster App Service also does not use cookies explicitly. However, the app may use third party code and libraries that use “cookies” to collect information and improve their services. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies and know when a cookie is being sent to your device. If you choose to refuse our cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of this Service.

Personal information collected by others when you visit our website

Articles on our website may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.) from, or links to, other websites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if you have visited the other website. The service that we use to allow social sharing does not collect information about you, and are GDPR compliant. 

Children’s Privacy

These Services do not concern anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 18. In the case we discover that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our systems. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can implement the necessary steps to remove your child’s information.

Regulatory Compliance to the Protection of Personal Information (POPI) Act 4 of 2013

The POPI Act came into effect in 2018, and has given businesses a grace period of 12 months to comply with its requirements. We at CBSS are proud to announce that our information capturing, storage and usage systems are aligned with the requirements of the Act, long before the expiry of this grace period.  The publication of this Privacy Policy is testament to our commitment to respecting your right to privacy.
